
Crew Leader
As a hands-on Crew Leader, you will supervise and support a team responsible for the safe, efficient, year-round maintenance of parks, green spaces, and public facilities. This includes the upkeep of courtyards, plazas, boulevards, monuments, recreational pathways, parking lots, bridges, boardwalks, and trails.
You will lead by example, ensuring that all tasks are completed to high standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. This role combines leadership, coordination, and physical work in dynamic outdoor settings that make a visible impact on the community.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license
-
Fluency in either French or English

Assets
-
Diploma in horticulture, civil maintenance, or a related vocational field
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape or civil maintenance, snow removal, or trades
-
Experience operating heavy equipment (AZ or DZ license an asset)
-
Valid First Aid certification
-
WHMIS training
-
Fall protection training
-
Knowledge of sustainable landscape maintenance practices
-
Experience in employee supervision and training

Responsibilities

Lead and actively participate in all on-site activities, including hands-on work and operating tools, vehicles, and equipment (including those with utility trailers)

Effectively supervise crew members and ensure efficient task execution
-
Develop and manage daily and seasonal work schedules
-
Train team members in safe work practices and technical skills
-
Ensure compliance with all company safety and security policies
-
Confirm that each team member is properly trained for assigned tasks
-
Conduct and participate in job site safety briefings
-
Perform regular job site inspections, identify hazards, inform staff and supervisors, and take corrective action
-
Ensure use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
-
Oversee maintenance and safe condition of tools and equipment

Participate in company training programs

Interact professionally with the public and clients

Track and record project hours, materials, and site progress

Review and authorize employee timesheets

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times

Monitor equipment and tools for service and maintenance needs

Participate in the company’s 24/7 on-call rotation
