Ceremonial Drive Garden Redesign at the Museum of History

The Ceremonial Drive Garden Redesign at the Museum of History is a landmark collaboration between the Canadian Museum of History and Lafleur de la Capitale, beginning in 2025 and continuing through 2026. This ambitious project reimagines one of the most prominent outdoor spaces in the National Capital Region—transforming the Ceremonial Drive Gardens into an inspiring, sustainable, and culturally resonant landscape. Lafleur de la Capitale brings its extensive expertise in large-scale landscape design and horticultural excellence to this partnership, ensuring that every element reflects both the museum’s architectural beauty and its deep connection to Canadian heritage.

Together, the Museum of History and Lafleur de la Capitale are shaping a garden that tells a story—one that celebrates the harmony between people, place, and nature. The redesign will incorporate native and symbolic plantings, refined pathways, and sculptural arrangements that echo the museum’s iconic curves and its panoramic view of Parliament Hill. With a focus on sustainability and seasonality, the garden will evolve throughout the year, offering visitors a living, ever-changing experience that complements the museum’s role as a keeper of Canadian stories.

This collaboration exemplifies the power of partnership between culture and craftsmanship. Over the course of 2025–2026, Lafleur de la Capitale’s design and horticultural teams will work closely with the museum’s curators, architects, and cultural advisors to bring the new Ceremonial Drive Gardens to life. The result will be a renewed landscape that not only enhances the museum’s grounds but also creates a lasting legacy—an outdoor space that unites beauty, history, and meaning in the heart of Gatineau.
