
Landscape Maintenance
Love working outdoors and being part of a team that takes pride in keeping the city beautiful year-round? As a Landscape Maintenance Team Member, you’ll report to a Crew Leader and play a key role in maintaining parks, grounds, and streetscapes in all seasons. From trimming and planting to clearing and cleaning, you’ll perform a variety of manual tasks that make a visible difference in our shared environment.

Description
Responsibilities

Collecting waste such as paper, glass, and leaves

Pruning trees and shrubs
-
Planting flowers, trees, and shrubs
-
Laying sod, mowing lawns, and trimming turf
-
Weeding and cultivating flower and shrub beds
-
Shoveling snow and applying de-icing products
-
Loading and unloading materials (e.g., de-icer, fertilizer, soil, park furniture)
-
Supporting special events (e.g., setting up signage, stages, fencing, and litter cleanup)
-
Maintaining public washrooms
-
Painting and performing minor repairs on park assets (e.g., benches, tables)

Inspecting sites for hazards such as ice, broken glass, vandalism, or burnt-out lights

Reporting hazards to the crew leader or supervisor

Completing daily time sheets

Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in safe, working condition

Wearing the designated company uniform
Working Conditions

Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and ice

Indoor work may involve exposure to dust, fumes, and noise
-
Regular use of loud power equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
-
Work often takes place in active urban environments, requiring awareness and attention to safety
-
Occasional evening, weekend, and statutory holiday shifts may be required
Ability to:

Perform repetitive manual tasks throughout an entire shift, including walking, shoveling (snow or soil), bending, lifting, twisting, stretching, pushing, and pulling

Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Follow and apply safe work practices as outlined by the employer

Safely operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, and power tools
